Take a walk in Blue Bell Woods listen to the sounds around you, of bird song and bees. Smell the flowers and the scent of Spring in the air. Every year is a new beginning and every day a blessing

This picture borrowed from the Glen Arbor web site on Facebook

I moved here to Michigan in 1971. I have grown to love this area of Michigan, and especially further north in the Upper Peninsula. I love the wildness up there. The great thing about Michigan is being able to walk in the woods and on the beaches and have no fear of snakes. The beaches are safe to on the Great Lakes, no fear of sharks. Not that I can swim but thats another story. I love to walk on the beaches in the Spring and Fall before and after the tourists have left. This is such a beautiful area that people come here for vacations and end up retiring here. So it grows and changes but people did have some forethought and set aside hundreds of acres in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. Hard at first for those who gave up property but in the end I hope it will be a good thing. Keep as much wild places wild if we can. Once changed its gone forever.
