Courage.................

Photobucket

Courage comes in many forms. Some stories we tend to brush off as a legend and think no more about it. There really was a woman, Lady Godiva. She was a prominent person in her day. The wife of a great man Leofric Earl of Mercia. In those days women had no rights. So for her to do what she did was unimaginable. She rode naked through the streets of Coventry to protest against her husbands taxation of his tenants. She stood up for the underprivaleged in a time when it was a crime to go against ones husbands law, he owned his wife. It took great courage and determination. Learn more about this woman who was way ahead of her time.

.....Fantasy.............

It is good to have an imagination. Today children are entertained by other people, folks who do not have their best interests at heart. When I was a child I loved to believe that there really were fairies. We played outside and made secret homes for ourselves among the trees and under the ground. We built toys from things we found. Kids played together and climbed trees and walked for miles across the fields. We looked for sticklebacks in the streams and we drank from those streams. We loved the woods and fields and spent all our time outside. Fresh air and sunshine. No one wore sunscreen or got skin cancer from the sun that we heard of. Nothing like making mud pies and getting dirty. We collected flowers for our mums and looked for birds nests and learned the wildlife and about nature. It was a safe environment back then. I miss that now.

Cuteness............

Do our furry friends plan on being cute. We lost our tiny toy poodle a couple of years ago, She was the cutest sweetest thing. This is Brea. She looks and behaves a lot like Bridget.

Brea being cute..............

Photobucket

Brea is just over a year right now. We bought her and her 1/2 sister Bella after Bridget died. They have the same dad. When Bridget died we were so devastated because it was an accident that took her life, I was watching a little boy who was about 2 at the time, he swung a bat at the same time that Bridget went for the ball. Killed her almost instantly.
When we got Bridget she was about one pound of attitude. She was cute and sassy and full of herself. She would love to go for walks and strut her stuff in cute little outfits. She demanded adoration and got it from everyone who saw her. Her walks became a visitation to everyone who would stop and admire her, she looked in cars and peoples windows and doors just expecting people to come and pet her, and they did. She would walk right up onto their porch if they were sitting outside. Her best friend was a huge mastiff named Con, they would walk side by side to everyones amusement. I think she was about the size of his nose. There will never be another like her.
This is Bridget being naughty...............

Brea is not outgoing like Bridget was but she has the naughty part down pat.
Bella is quiet and a lot different in her personality from Brea. Every one of my poodles have been special, unique and wonderful. You can never replace a friend who you loose but it sure helps when you have others. I will do a post on the rest of my poodles in time.

Monarch Of The Sky's....................

Photobucket

Beautiful Monarch of the sky
On lacy wing through heavens fly
A wonderful flower of brilliant hue
Essence of life everlasting true
Through birth and life in all its form
Crysalice....death...to a life reborn

Beautiful Monarch glide on the breeze
Upwards and onwards pass through the trees
Seek out nectar on lovely flowers
Bees your companion in peace filled hours
Bask in the sun of warm lazy days
We all could learn from your gentle ways

Tristen............

Photobucket

This is my great grandson Tristen enjoying his breakfast. Today its scrambled eggs with a slice of toast and butter, applejacks and his juice. He is watching his "show" Behind him is is blankie, and his two prize balloons. Right now he is obsessed with balloons, one came from his auntie Emily's birthday party.
Tristen is the center of my world right now. His mother died in February you will see her in this blog, I still miss Alexandra. She would just love to see how her "little man" has grown. He is so full of himself. He will be 2 in September and they are just so primitive at that age. If they want it they want it now, if they want to do it they just go ahead and do it. They are exploring the boundaries and pushing them. Pushing us. Seeing how far they can go. They can go from a smiling charming toddler to a whirling dirvish in a matter of seconds. I am enjoying every moment.
