A Walk by Miller Creek.........................

We had some nice days this past week and so one nice afternoon we went for a walk down by Miller Creek. It runs in part in the back of Aldis. We had been to Home Depot and Aldis so it was a very convenient place to walk. In the mud I saw some very tiny hoof prints. A baby deer had walked by just before us and I bet it was hiding in the long grass and daisies. Mum would be close by and we saw her foot prints also.

Most of the trail we took was in shade and so was very pleasant. We saw loads of wild strawberries and they are so tiny but so tasty. The open meadows are full of daisies. The creek was clear and sparkling. Unpolluted and fresh.

The city had taken a lot of acres and set aside for public use. They have been so good at that in Northern Michigan. They could have continued to put in Condo's, there are certainly plenty of those and the people who live there have these lovely trails to walk on. We met a mum and little boy who was so excited to tell us he saw a "hooooooooge" turtle on the trail and to not touch it because they bite. Oh yes they do, it was a large snapper who had sought refuge by the time we got there. We had already been told by a girl walking her dog but alas we missed him.

Wildflowers abounded.

The trails go on for quite a way but we stuck to a shorter route, it winds through Cedar swamps where we first met the girl and her dog Jack. Greeted Jack and off we went. She met us later having already completed the trail and we had not got much further haha.

The woodlands and swamps show us that nothing goes to nothing. Everything even in death has a purpose.

There will be fruit in the Fall.Blackberry and Raspberries were in bloom.

The air was scented with Honeysuckle and other flowering shrubs. It was so lovely.

I enjoyed the different Pines that sported new "cones" they are so cute. It was a pleasant walk and not humid for a change. This Spring has been very wet and I do have several mosquito bites but that day was not one of those days.
