I only knew of one covered bridge around here, the one up on the Dune road. We see that every time we go up the scenic drive. They are strange things really. WHY? that's the question, why?............well then I read of another one here out in Lake Ann. I was determined to go find it once summer came. So we did......It was not easy to track. We knew the road OK but this one was located at the entrance to lake side building lots. Once you know where it is, well then it's easy hahahahah..........
This place is called Joshua's Landing. Apart from the bridge itself there's nothing much to see. Still it was worth going to see.
There is a log cabin sort of thing but its hard to get to the lake. We didn't We went to the launch site instead for pictures of the lake. It would be lovely building sites.
The Lake is lovely. These taken from the boat launch spot.
Well even though we got some pretty pictures, there was nothing to do there and so we went on to Frankfort via River Rd by Benzonia. Country roads.
We had to stop and see the new babies at the Alpaca farms.
They are adorable. We stopped at the Betsie River walkway but part of it was flooded so we couldn't go far. No birds to speak of.
We took "the roads less traveled" to go home. We stopped in Empire at the "Misers Hoard" I had wanted to stop in for some time to check out the garden stuff. I had seen a chicken on their Facebook page and wanted to check it out. Well the chuckie came home with me along with two glass electric conductors.
The Misers Hoard Empire
Boy have they done a nice job on the shop. It used to be a small antique type shop and now is full of all sorts of wonderful things. Do check it out when you get chance or visit Empire.
