Weather man wrong...........

Today they said would be overcast and so we went out yesterday instead of today..........BONUS, he was wrong. A beautiful sunny day. Took some effort to get Gerry to agree to go out but I suggested a short ride to the Lighthouse on the Peninsula. I guess that was a more palatable than the walk I had suggested. He is quite content to just sit in the house. Not me. I want OUT.
So having settled that one we headed out for the Peninsula. The Peninsula is between West Bay and East Bay of Grand Traverse Bay.

So off we go, the sky again was so pretty. There are so many Vineyards out on the Peninsula now where once it was all Cherry Orchards. There are still some but not like it used to be when we were the "Cherry Capital of the world" Still the Wineries make it look very rich looking, some are so big they look as though we could be in Italy or the South of France. Take notice of the skies.

Some of the Wineries are open most of the time for wine tasting and in the season they do wine tours by bus or coach. It's very popular.

Anyway we were heading for the lighthouse at the tip of the Peninsula. There were quite a few people out and about. The roads were dry and there I tried to get some nice barns on the way

Its not far to the Park but had to stop along the way.

With the high water it has made this beach at least, so much better. It used to get very slimy and rocky. Now there is just the strip of nice sand. You can see in one shot how far out the water used to be because of the trees now under water.

I wanted to go back through Old Mission. SO with the promise of one of their cinnamon rolls thats the way we went back.

So a pretty day again with some pretty views but no animals and no snowy owls. Bah Humbug.
