Tristen was here for the day today. He is going to camp most days of the week but today he came to visit. We had decided to take him to the Butterfly house I thought they had added to it but really it was much the same as the last time we went. The Butterfly are all from other countries so we have to be sure not to let any out. They do land on people sometimes.
The room with the Butterfly is full of flowers as one would expect. They feed them fruit and nectar
I am not at all keen on bugs. I won't show those. The lady there offered to take a picture
Tristen borrowed my camera and took these pictures. I like the fact you can see what I am looking at through the camera.
After we were done we went to Alden. There is a shop there that Tristen enjoys. He found a stuffy and a pop gun (shoots little balls) I figured that would keep him busy when he got home.
Alden was packed. I was intending getting lunch there but it was way too busy. Stopped at the Depot and took a few pictures. The Railroad sort of ties in with my story that I am following up in Northport. The lumberjacks came in first in all the places in Northern Michigan.
The Depot is a museum but it was not open.
Boy was it hot out there. A pity because I saw some beautiful birds that I would have liked to get pictures of but no way.
Nice gardens in the little park though. I would love some of these lilies.
It was way too hot to walk around so we headed to Torch Lake.
Only stopped long enough to get a couple of pictures. The smart folk were out on the lake
Tristen tried his hand at taking pictures. It was hazy on the water. We stopped at Elk Rapids and had lunch there.
Look at those eyelashes........The food was good, We stopped at the same place we took Liz and Rodney when they were here. I could not eat more than one piece of the Fish and Chips. Tristen had one bite of his burger and was done. He ate some for supper later but not much. All too soon it was time to take him back, he says that's the worst part of the day, but I told him as long as he behaves they will let him come back soon.
