Today was overcast, but it was a warm day. Really nice for October. It was humid, sort of, but bearable. I have been so sick of sitting in the house it was such a treat. Gerry has been suffering from a sore back so I was lucky to get out. I know it hurts but I believe short walks help. I planned on lunch at Trishes Dishes, he has not eaten there before, well only cookies and rolls. So the drive through Suttons Bay really was uneventful. The colours didn't really show up until we were coming home on 72 and by then it was raining.
Laura and I would go to Trishe's to eat quite often, we would get coffee and snacks or sometimes lunch. The Tomato Basil soup is wonderful, so are the Panini's
I was going to take a quick walk on the beach but decided against that. I left Gerry in the car and went down into Fish Town to take pictures.
The fortunate thing was I managed to capture some Salmon jumping. It's that time of year.
This is where Lake Michigan joins the river at Leland. The shanties are old and now home quaint shops. Carlson's Fisheries and cheese shops. Unique gifts and things that are fun to browse through. My Parents loved going there.
I will always think of my friend Susan, she came over twice to visit with us. This was a fun thing for us to see. She died a couple of years ago but I will never forget her.

I will most likely have to begin doing some of these things on my own. Gerry relaxed in the car while I walked around. After I stopped on the bridge for pictures of the river.
I took a walk through the park next to the river where the museum and art center is
Gerry had got out of the car to stretch. After we walked around and enjoyed the garden (we have got to go back in the summer next year) we headed for Port Oneida.
I had to take a few pictures of one of the galleries near where we ate. I love the metal sculptures.
Too many to show here. I will have to post a link.
So on to Port Oneida. I wanted to see what they had done to one of the farms up in the woods but took the wrong trail haha. Ah well, as we had a lot of rain I thought we better stay of the two tracks. We did not see one living thing.
We stopped by the boardwalk but not much going on there either. One lone turtle
It was rather dull by then and I felt a few rain drops so time to head home. It just sprinkled so I did get a picture of the Dunes across Glen Lake.
It really began to rain then. Going home on M72 we noticed that the leaves had turned a lot more on that side of the county. Must be protected by Lake Michigan where we were. Maybe by next week we may reach the peak. I will try to get down to the High Rollaways before the end. Next week we have to take a quick trip down to jason's so not sure if I can manage to get Gerry back out before then.

Wow Janice! What an amazing day! Would have loved to come with you! Such a beautiful area, filled with so many great little shops! Loved seeing the salmon jumping! So cool! Those metal sculptures are amazing! Big Hugs!
I’m impressed, I have to say. Actually not often do I encounter a weblog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me inform you, you will have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is excellent; the issue is something that not sufficient persons are talking intelligently about. I am very pleased that I stumbled throughout this in my seek for something relating to this. casino bonus
